Monday. Ho hum.

So, I like to think that I’m a rather friendly person. I don’t go out of my way to make people feel bad, I try to make people laugh, I’ve always got a smile on my face… A typical Midwest attitude.
But I work at a bank. And some people just make it SO hard to be friendly. Y’know, those people that storm up to the teller window, chatting away on their cell phones in a loud, obnoxious voice. They throw their transactions at you, like, “Here, do this, lowly peon.” And then when they walk away, and you look at their balance, and they definitely don’t have enough money to their names to treat you the way they are.
Or the customers that get uppity because you follow bank policies. Those silly rules that you get fired for not obeying? Some customers think that they are above things like that. They swear and yell and carry on in such a manner, but nothing can be done, and then they just leave in a huff, threatening to close their account and go across the street to another bank. Honestly? We have so many customers, losing one is not going to be a big deal.
I also hate the tone of voice people get when they’re worried about something… Like, that panicky whine sort of thing? We get that a lot – people wondering why their account is in the negative (well, you spent too much at Aeropostale, apparently), why they’re getting charged this and that (because your account is in the negative because you spent too much at Aeropostale, apparently), etc. etc. When people start to whine like that, it really makes me want to be as unhelpful as possible, as horrible as that may be. I understand that it’s your money and that it’s important, but really, if you just kept a check register or had online banking and didn’t swipe your debit card willy nilly, then we wouldn’t have this problem. It’s a simple case of you managing your own finances instead of expecting the bank to do it all for you, the end.
It’s Monday, and I’m really NOT looking forward to work this week. Can you tell?
So Fresh and So Clean
June 27, 2008
This is a new blog where I will write about things that happen to me. Sometimes they will be funny things. Somethimes they will be downright boring. And still, at other times, these things may be completely digusting and immature. It really depends on what mood I’m in.
Sometimes I write in all caps, too. If this may bother you, you might want to leave before you get to into this whole mess that is my life.
I’m young, in college, and very opinionated. This is not to say that my opinions are intelligent or at all backed up with facts and figures. It’s how I feel. Take it or leave it.
I also like to pretend that I have a great sense of humor. I like sarcasm and poop jokes. Yes, I am practically a five-year-old. I really shouldn’t be allowed in public, let alone write a blog. I really don’t need to be spreading my sphere of influence.
Maybe later I’ll think of something interesting to type about. For the time being, enjoy the pandas at the top of the page. I love pandas.
